MyTimelines

This week’s widget is fun to play with and easy to set up. Simply enter the URL of your favorite RSS feed and you’ve got an instant timeline of previous updates. If you’ve got a blog, this would be a great way to fill up unused footer space because it can be adjusted to any size. Practically every kind of content can be RSSed into your timeline to engage your readers, from a Flikr album to your latest stumbles. Best of all, the service is free and requires no registration of any kind. Want a preview? Take a look at this feed from Problogger that I put together in less than 5 minutes and drag it around a little:

If I had to find one fault with My Timelines it would be customization. Widgets can be stretched to any size and the font can be changed, but beyond that you’re stuck with this simple gray look. I’m guessing they’re working on this, but for now it is still a great way for most people to add a little creative navigation to their site!
